After Awakening, the Game NPC Claims the Top Spot on the Server [Virtual Reality]

[Main story complete, bonus chapters released at random]

Qin Yu, an unreleased NPC in a famous full-dive game, unexpectedly awakens self-awareness. But the System mistakes him for a newbie and drops him into the starting village to begin again.

Qin Yu decides to diligently grind monsters and level up.

By "diligently," he means staying online all day and earning the nickname "top-tier no-lifer" from his friends.

By "grind monsters and level up," he means defeating the hidden boss that the entire server has been searching for just days after becoming a newbie.

His in-game name, [I'm Not an NPC], soon echoes across the entire server.

The data monitoring team at the company behind Above the Summit makes an unexpected discovery: the final boss data from their dungeon has left its proper place and ended up among the player data!

When they track down the data, they discover that the player it's attached to has become the top-ranked player on the server.

The game company: ...Does this count as cheating? But he's always been that good.

The company monitors the final boss for a day.

In the morning, he hunts monsters and farms gear. At noon, he hunts monsters and farms gear. In the afternoon, he holds hands and takes a walk with his partner. In the evening, he joins a team to run dungeons. At midnight, he hunts monsters and sells items.

Wait, how can an NPC be dating? And in an online relationship, no less?

Wait, his partner is the chairman's son?!

The server's longtime top player has finally been dethroned. At the handover ceremony, all the players watch to see how the former number one, [Where Is Early Winter], will treat [I'm Not an NPC]. Will he be annoyed? Will he despise him?

Instead, they witness [Where Is Early Winter] place the crown that represents the server's number one player on [I'm Not an NPC]'s head with his own hands, saying,

"You will always be my number one."

The players: So we're the online commenters blowing up the forums in those novels...

--Below is the synopsis for the upcoming novel, After the Cat Alien Is Doted on Exclusively by His Aloof Master--

[Dopey, straightforward cat-alien shou x aloof, tsundere master gong]

Hoping to launch in early 2027. I'll build up a big backlog of chapters.

Jin Zeye thinks he's terribly unlucky. During a routine interstellar patrol, his spaceship suffers a catastrophic malfunction and crashes onto Earth with him inside.

The ship is badly damaged, and his energy is depleted. He can't even maintain his human form!

To get home as soon as possible, Jin Zeye decides his first move on Earth will be to...

Find a rich person and scam them!

He picks out a man. The man has an extraordinary air about him and wears a white robe. Just from his looks, Jin Zeye can tell he isn't ordinary. And the key is, the purse hanging from his waist looks really full!

So Jin Zeye transforms into his true form, ready to scam the man with his fluffy body.

"Whose little cat are you?" the man asks, lifting Jin Zeye up.

Jin Zeye gazes into the man's deep eyes and strokes his cheek with his tiny paw.

"Then I'll take you home."

--

It turns out the handsome man who takes him home is Ning Shuo, the esteemed master of Lingyin Peak. On Earth, Jin Zeye's true form looks like an adorable cat, the kind people often keep as a pet.

Jin Zeye never expected his good days to arrive so quickly.

But his master always has a cold expression. To avoid getting kicked out, Jin Zeye can only cling to him day after day.

When his master teaches, Jin Zeye sleeps beside him.

When his master cultivates, Jin Zeye helps chase away the pesky little bugs.

When his master sets up formations, Jin Zeye cheers him on from the side.

Gradually, Jin Zeye realizes that his nearly empty energy reserves have risen considerably. As long as he gets close to his master, his energy bar goes up.

Jin Zeye: Master is basically my energy pack!

--

One night, Jin Zeye dozes off on his master's chest as usual. But when he wakes up, he has turned into a human! And he's completely naked! Jin Zeye thinks he'll die of embarrassment.

He gets up to make a run for it, but his master grabs his smooth, bare arm.

"Where do you think you're going? You're my cat." His master's eyes reveal a domineering side Jin Zeye has never seen before.

--

[Bonus scene]

After much hardship, Jin Zeye finally makes it home. His planet is celebrating the return of a long-missing security officer.

Planet residents: Huh? Why did he bring back a two-legged creature?
