When the midnight tide overflows the seventh reef, those participating in the "migration" will wake up in severe pain - the silver scales appearing on their wrists are spreading at a speed visible to the naked eye, and there are only 72 hours left before the next "liquidation".
This is a cursed survival game. The participants are without exception "people who should have died": the driver who was burned at the scene of the car accident, the student who fell from the rooftop and hit the awning, the patient who suffered a cardiac arrest on the operating table but suddenly opened his eyes... They were dragged back to the world by an invisible force at the moment of death, only to find that they had become "wanderers" and were forced to be involved in a recurring death race.
The rules of the game are simple but cruel: within 72 hours of each round, the migrating player must find and "sacrifice" an "outsider" and exchange his life for the chance of his silver scales fading away; if he fails to complete it, the silver scales will crawl over his heart, causing him to truly die in suffocating pain, and the way of death is exactly the same as the moment he "should have died." What's even weirder is that after each round, all the undead migrants will be forcibly transported to a new "migration venue" - it may be an abandoned hospital in a heavy rain, a campus burned by fire, or even a person's memory maze, and each venue contains fragments about the origin of "migration".
The most desperate thing is the nature of "Migration": it is not a simple survival game, but a punishment for "death tamperers". All the participants had unconsciously "robbed" others of their chances of survival when they were dying - the pregnant woman who was supposed to be killed by the driver in the car accident survived, the awning hit by the falling student belonged to a homeless man, the patient on the operating table took the vital signs of the old man in the bed next to him... "Migration" allows them to pay back the deaths they were owed in cycle after cycle.
When the silver scales cover the body, the wanderer will become the new "referee" and be forced to watch the next round of the game; and the only way to break the game is hidden in the most contradictory rules - if one can voluntarily give up the sacrifice in a certain round and choose to end himself by "dead", the cycle may be broken. But no one knows whether this kind of "relief" is a return to death or a deeper fall into nothingness.
The tide began to rise again, and the seventh rock was looming in the waves. The silver scales on my wrist are getting hot, and a new round of migration has begun.
The game is like the migration of a fish, escaping from death time and time again. The outcome of the final trial is irreversible. Human nature is infinitely greedy.
"The depths of human hearts are often filled with different desires, and these desires make them greedy and ignorant. And I like to see these ignorant humans disregarding everything in pursuit of their own interests, and making crazy sacrifices for me. So I designed their own game for them, where they escape death but only end up in ashes. It is the so-called migration."
