Ruan Zhao Is the Top
In Jiheng Year 20, Prince Ruan Zhao took an imperial decree to the battlefield for the first time, where Qin Hui of the enemy kingdom ran him through. He barely survived.
From then on, Ruan Zhao found it increasingly difficult to survive the bloody struggle for succession.
In Jiheng Year 31, Qin Hui, a famed general of the Federation, was captured on the battlefield and finally fell into Ruan Zhao's hands once more.
The only flaw in this happy turn of events was that the emperor wanted him to marry Qin Hui.
His sworn enemy became the person at his side in bed.
Six years after the new emperor Ruan Zhao took the throne, his only wife, Prince Consort Qin Hui, died of illness.
From then on, Ruan Zhao sat alone upon the throne, while rumors swirled beyond the palace walls. Some said he had borne humiliation and hardship for years, only to finally avenge himself.
But that wasn't the truth.
Even as emperor, with the world in his hands, Ruan Zhao still couldn't bring Qin Hui back from the dead.
When he opened his eyes again, he was reborn.
It was now Jiheng Year 31.
