[Spirit King with Little Knowledge of Human Customs (Bottom) * Ice-Cold Commander (Top)]
In the New Star Era, humanity finally encountered an extraterrestrial species: the Spirit Race.
They have the wings and magic that humans dream of. But would greedy humans ever allow the existence of a species more powerful than themselves?
The Special Command Center was established, and new weapons were developed. Humanity once again brought everything under its own rules.
Ling Yuan, king of the Spirit Race, leads his people back to their homeland to recover the royal wings lost in the human world and escape human persecution. He unilaterally forces a human commander into a bargain.
He borrows the commander's body to help himself blend seamlessly into human society. He plants a feather on the commander's chest to seal their pact. The feather grows hot in response to his emotions.
As payment, he takes it upon himself to repair the commander's genetic defect and allows the commander to wield some of the king's magic. Before long, he realizes that he has begun to grow attached to this human. So he seeks out the commander under the guise of a human researcher.
Following the commander's scent to his home, Ling Yuan sets aside his reservations and spreads his wings. Grabbing the commander's collar, he says, "Lick it. Lick my wings."
Since the Spirit Race appeared, countless people have tried to obtain magic from them and use it to create a new class divide, destroying the equality that humanity has called for over and over again.
To maintain peace and deal with the troubles brought by the Spirit Race, the Special Command Center is established, with Qi Shengli as its chief commander.
At some point, a red feather appears on Qi Shengli's chest, and no matter what he does, he cannot wash it off. Then Ling Yuan returns to his side in the guise of a human researcher, reveals his identity, and asks him to cooperate. When Qi Shengli questions him, the feather begins to burn hot, and Ling Yuan uses magic to threaten him into yielding.
This is his first time being so close to a member of the Spirit Race. Ling Yuan makes demands out of nowhere that are usually only made between lovers. At the very least, he insists on drinking Qi Shengli's blood.
Ling Yuan climbs into his home without permission, is so clueless that a can of Coke explodes all over him, likes to hold him while they sleep, bites through his skin to drink his blood and then heals him, and arrives at crime scenes before he does.
Gradually, Qi Shengli realizes that Ling Yuan may truly mean no harm. He agrees to help him recover the royal wings and send the Spirit Race home, so that humans and spirits can finally live in peace.
But things never go as planned. To complete their plan, Qi Shengli finally decides to act as bait, only to be reviled by the people. Countless cannons turn toward him in an instant.
Ling Yuan spreads his wings in front of him without hesitation. As he watches them being scorched again and again, Qi Shengli caresses and gently licks them.
The man in front of him glows as he whispers in his ear, "Don't lick my wings, Commander."
All the traitors receive the punishment they deserve.
Setting notes:
1. The Spirit Race has different ranks, and not all spirits can understand human speech.
2. Spirits are naturally lighter on their feet than humans, and the king is no exception.
3. The royal wings are passed down through generations of Spirit Kings and symbolize power. The king doesn't lose his wings or the ability to fly if the royal wings go missing.
People standing on the moral high ground need someone to bear the consequences of their faith collapsing.
