I Farmed My Way to the Top in the Beastman World

A tiger who's aloof and imposing in public but fluffy in private x a slow-to-warm, oblivious botanist who's composed on the outside and screaming inside. Survival and growth / settlement building / beastfolk farming

.

When the tour bus plunged into a ravine, Shen Man thought she was done for.

She woke in an unfamiliar forest, with a tiger's face right in front of hers.

She was too terrified even to scream and passed out on the spot.

The next time she woke, she was in a cave, with the warm breath of a tiger against the back of her neck.

Shen Man squeezed her eyes shut and waited to die. After a long time, she couldn't help opening them.

A woman sat by the fire. She had a tiger's tail and ears, beautiful golden hair, and was looking at her with her head tilted.

"What are you scared of? Am I that scary?" The woman frowned coldly, her tone fierce. "If I wanted to eat you, would I have waited this long?"

The golden-haired woman thought she was a coward.

Later, Shen Man learned that the woman's name was Lin.

.

The beastfolk of Fuxiao Mountain said, "Lin has taken in a useless creature who can't transform. Just wait, she'll throw it out sooner or later."

Lin's clan said, "Just keep it for fun. You can't tame a freak."

Lin said, "She's not useless, and she's not a freak. She's amazing. She can farm."

Farm? Ha. There were plenty of wild fruits and game to hunt. Who'd want to bury seeds in the ground and wait months for them to grow?

The beastfolk laughed until they doubled over.

Lin beat up the one who laughed loudest. The next day, she deliberately carried Shen Man on her back as she walked all over Fuxiao Mountain. Every beastfolk saw the solitary mountain lord carrying the freak with no ears or tail.

Back in the cave, Shen Man poked Lin, who had returned to human form. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?"

Lin replied unhappily, "I was just going for a walk."

.

Word spread all over Fuxiao Mountain: the crops grown by the freak were a hundred times tastier than anything that grew wild in the mountains.

Later, even the distant Yunding Peak sent an eagle beastfolk to trade salt for them.

The first person to turn Fuxiao Mountain's fortunes around through farming was a human who couldn't transform.
