Luo Jingfan once had a younger brother from next door. They grew up together, but the boy didn't live long. He died in an accident when Luo Jingfan was a freshman in college.
One day, at the age of twenty-nine, he finds a young man at the hospital who looks just like his little brother.
On the very first day he brings him home, he throws the boy out.
It is all because the boy sleepily called him "big brother."
You've got to be kidding. Who does he think he is, calling me that?
Only Zhu Yu is allowed to call me Big Brother.
Like a stern-faced judge, Luo Jingfan shuts the door between them, leaving the boy in the hallway and not caring whether he lives or dies.
But a few days later, he gets drunk and grabs the boy's face in the autumn wind, asking why he won't call him Big Brother.
Ah, that sweet feeling of having a change of heart. It's wonderful.
He is captivated by how much Chen Jin resembles the boy next door from his childhood, and lets him inch his way into his territory, until the kid confesses to him.
Then he throws him out again.

When Luo Jingfan turns him down, the boy gets drunk at a bar and nearly dies because of his bastard father. Luo Jingfan risks half his life to save him. Then, in a moment of confused realization, he realizes that this convenient little brother of his might... not be related to him?
Chen Jin knows how to cook all kinds of dishes. He crosses several neighborhoods to bring Luo Jingfan home in the rain, and sneaks into his bed in the middle of the night to warm his cold stomach.
Maybe being in love isn't so bad?
His possessiveness takes hold, and Luo Jingfan wants Chen Jin to be his for life.
So he orders a ring, planning to propose on New Year's Eve. But before the fireworks are lit, Chen Jin discovers a photo of Zhu Yu.
The secret Luo Jingfan had planned to launch into space along with the fireworks is discovered by the very person it concerns.
Luo Jingfan: I'm screwed. I've gone too far. What do I do? Asking online...
One-on-one, happy ending.
Neither the top nor the bottom is perfect. They both need to grow.
There is a little bit of the bottom pursuing the top later in the story. If that's not your thing, proceed with caution!!
This isn't a substitute story in the traditional sense, because Zhu Yu and the bottom weren't a couple before Zhu Yu died.
