On his twenty-first birthday, Xie Wang was swept into the "Divine Office Game," where a bloody "coming-of-age ceremony" awaited him in a haunted-realm dungeon.

There, he met Xun Zhen, whose affection for him was at -100%.

Their minds were clearly in sync, resonating as though their souls were one, yet at the moment of life or death, Xun Zhen could shove him in front of a blade without a second thought.

But just when Xie Wang decided this man was his mortal enemy, Xun Zhen personally handed him the only way out.

Amid a life-or-death choice, Xie Wang glimpsed the truth: in the haunted-realm dungeons, the name of worshipping gods concealed the use of rules as blades to kill them.

And all of this was part of a plan Xun Zhen had laid over countless millennia

He was the orphan Xie Wang had saved during a famine, and regarded him as his one and only god.

He had gone mad after watching helplessly as Xie Wang, in the role of "Divine Son," was sacrificed to the Heavenly Dao, his soul scattered to the winds.

He had reversed time and space, using haunted realms to piece together the scattered fragments of Xie Wang's soul, yet personally laid the path to his own inevitable death.

But the "wang" in Xie Wang's name means arrogant.

He insists on tearing apart this stupid fate. He insists on fighting his way to a path where he and his beloved can live together, right there on the altar of god-slaying!

A glimpse of the story:

1.

"What are you trying to do?" Xie Wang pinned Xun Zhen against the wall by the throat. The smell of blood erupted in the enclosed space.

Xun Zhen's handsome face crinkled into a smile. His slender, icy fingertips brushed the ring on Xie Wang's left ring finger. "Do you hate me? Do you want to kill me?"

2.

Xun Zhen was held tightly in Xie Wang's arms, his clothes already soaked through with blood. He struggled to raise a hand and gently touched Xie Wang's furrowed brow. His voice was soft, almost a whisper or a sigh. "Why did you come to save me? I want to kill you... Xie Wang."

The wind howled in their ears. The System's warning shrilled sharply in his mind, but Xie Wang's expression was more resolute than ever, almost brutally so. He said nothing and gave no answer. He simply held the person in his arms and walked step by step toward the exit, toward the hope of life.

"Xie Wang, you are the light I gave everything to find again." Xun Zhen's blood dripped onto the back of Xie Wang's hand, burning hot. His eyes were nearly frantic. "This is my last chance. You won't let me down, will you?"

"Would you trade your beloved's life for the chance to eke out another existence?" Xie Wang simply looked down at him. In his deep eyes was an emotion Xun Zhen couldn't understand, something like anger and something like grief. His voice was low, each word striking Xun Zhen's heart. "I'm sorry. That's not how I do things."

Blurb:

The sharp-tongued, tsundere, fiercely protective "Divine Lord"

×

The adorable, sweet, food-guarding "Artifact Spirit"

Ji Ningzhi has lived too long. He remembers only the laws of the Heavenly Dao and has forgotten the warmth of the human heart.

As Xuan Yu, he is the most impartial judge of order in the Four Realms, an iron ruler of reincarnation and karma. He has seen countless obsessions turn people into demons, and has always understood only the words "laws of the Heavenly Dao."

Until the night he met Xiao Er in an ancient tomb outside the city.

Xiao Er was a fragmentary spirit disturbed from its rest, a shadow formed from the broken remnants of Xia's dragon veins and an ancient artifact's power. It had forgotten its past and was left with only the obsession of restoring its incomplete body, like a spark that could never be extinguished.

A soul he should have been able to disperse with a single gesture instead dragged him into a damaged mural.

Three thousand years of Xia's rise and fall, and a hundred kinds of human joy and suffering, swept through his eyes. The heart that had been as cold as an icicle was scorched by the persistence of that innocent fragmentary spirit, leaving a crack.
