A Hymn to Crawling

Its compound eyes are an inverted holy grail,

brimming with poisonous milk.

Drink, my children.

The ashes of these stars taste sweet.

Lin En, who dreaded death and clung to life, became a defective insect queen in an accident.

His once-happy life became difficult from then on.

The human empire's relentless hunt for the insect race lay ahead,

while insect queens of other species pursued their rivals with terrifying ferocity from behind.

He had no interest in building a colony of his own, but at regular intervals he still built a nest and laid eggs... only to eat them again.

And even so, he was still hungry.

Lin En was tormented by the men who kept insisting on clinging to him.

Rather than let those men into his heart, he would much prefer to let them into his stomach first.

An unconventional insect-queen story with a mountain of original worldbuilding.
