After moving because of changes in his family's work situation, Kazehaya Mitsuki transfers from Tokyo to Miyagi.
Looking forward to his new life, Kazehaya Mitsuki experiences quite a first day at school: he gets lost and arrives late in the morning; at noon, a careless guy knocks him over, ruining both his clothes and his lunch; then an overly familiar upperclassman takes him to the supermarket for an apology lunch, which turns out to be very much not to his taste.
Along the way, Kazehaya Mitsuki learns that this unreliable upperclassman is the captain of the volleyball team.
Can someone save his high school life from here on out?
Much later, Kazehaya Mitsuki looks back on that day. It was chaotic and awful, but it was also the day he met Oikawa.

In his third year of high school, Oikawa meets a very talented but also very strange underclassman.
His name and looks are sunny, but his tongue is sharp.
Though, for all his sharp words, he can sometimes say things that are unexpectedly profound.
Most importantly, this underclassman treats him as someone special.
Aoba Johsai beats Shiratorizawa that summer and goes on to achieve good results at the national tournament.
At the celebratory dinner, Oikawa takes Kazehaya Mitsuki's hand and loudly announces,
"Mitsuki and I are together!"
What he gets in return is complete silence. After a long pause, a friend speaks up.
"How about telling us something we don't already know?"
It turns out they'd been in love long before he even understood what love was.

A story about a sharp-tongued, snarky underclassman, a wing spiker who picks fights with the whole world when he's in a bad mood but knows how to put on an act, and a peacock of an upperclassman who's sometimes a goof and sometimes surprisingly perceptive.
They're switch, and the story won't make their roles particularly obvious. This is pure, high-concentration sweet romance.
They'll beat Shiratorizawa, Oikawa will be noticed sooner, and his volleyball career will go more smoothly.
The protagonist is a second-year student. Some details are my own additions.
