[Unclear POV] [Intangible Cultural Heritage]
A bronze sword freshly unearthed from a Western Zhou tomb, Shang Que was cruelly left in a foreign museum. Carrying a thousand years of baleful energy, she sees everyone as a sacrificial offering waiting to be cut down.
Until she meets a girl in the park with paint on her hands.
It feels as if they knew each other once.
The girl’s fingers are stained with mineral pigment. She carefully touches the cracks in Shang Que’s blade, breathing so softly, as though afraid to disturb a three-thousand-year-old dream.
“Don’t touch me.” Shang Que coolly pulls her hand back, her palm warm from the paint.
Damn it, why isn’t this mortal afraid of my chill?
“But the paint is peeling here.” The girl lifts a cotton swab, her gaze clear and stubborn. “I’m from China, so I have to take responsibility for you.”
Shang Que finds it absurd. She once severed the heads of feudal lords, and now a human is threatening her with a cotton swab? More absurd still, when the girl restores the missing jade ring on her sword tassel, Shang Que’s sword heart, dormant for a thousand years, stirs with an echo like a dragon’s roar.
By day, she is a rust-covered national treasure in a glass case.
But then she suddenly remembers: perhaps she and this girl met in a past life.
When a cultural relic falls in love with a mortal
Will she willingly remain sealed in a display case, embracing a cold eternity?
Or will she burn away a thousand years of cultivation for the sake of one blazing mortal lifetime with her?
P.S. 1. The cover is in the works.
2. I’ll build up a stock of chapters, but I’m not sure how long the story will be yet.
3. The author will brush up on history before coming out to embarrass herself.
