[Not abandoned. I'll post it after the whole thing is drafted. For now, you can treat it as a coming-soon preview.]
[About 250,000 words of pure sweetness]
Xie Qinghuai is a spoiled young master from a wealthy family, born into privilege and used to throwing his weight around.
One day, he was so loud and reckless that he got hit on the head by a door, and that was when he awakened.
It turned out the world he lived in was a novel, and he was one of its characters.
The good news: He isn't some disposable side character. He's the protagonist who gets pursued.
The bad news: The novel is a melodramatic tragedy that puts its protagonist through endless torture until it ends in tragedy!
Though Xie Qinghuai was born into a wealthy family, as an Omega he was ultimately reduced to a pawn in a marriage alliance.
Li Yanchen, the man he was to marry, fit every stereotype of a cold, domineering CEO: a handsome, outstanding top Alpha from one of the most powerful families around.
Xie Qinghuai thought marrying into the Li family would mean a life of luxury, but instead it marked the beginning of physical and emotional torment. He suffered endlessly until, when he was on the brink of death, the Xie family found their real young master. Naturally, everyone abandoned Xie Qinghuai, the fake young master.
By then, he was already seriously ill. In the end, he died quietly in a forgotten corner.
The End
Xie Qinghuai: ...
Now that he knew what was coming, he wasn't about to let the plot torment him to death!
If he had to enter a marriage alliance, and he was the fake young master, then he'd find the real young master and bring him back.
The real young master was also a beautiful Omega. Unlike Xie Qinghuai, who was hopeless at studying, he was "the ridiculously accomplished kid everyone else's parents brag about." In the original plot, the Xie family abandoned Xie Qinghuai without hesitation because the real young master was so outstanding that his parents doted on him.
Then let the real young master marry Li Yanchen! There was still some time before the Li and Xie families' marriage alliance, so Xie Qinghuai had to run away as soon as possible!
But why wasn't Li Yanchen following the plot? Why did he keep chasing after Xie Qinghuai?
*
Li Yanchen was reborn.
In his previous life, he married Xie Qinghuai, but their married life was anything but happy. It was nothing but endless torment.
He didn't know why he craved Xie Qinghuai's pheromones yet couldn't stop himself from hurting him. In the end, he abandoned Xie Qinghuai.
Only after hearing of Xie Qinghuai's death did he regret it bitterly. Amid endless heartache, he returned to the time before their marriage alliance.
This time, he would start over with Xie Qinghuai. He would make sure they lived happily together for the rest of their lives.
Things were just unfolding a little differently from his previous life.
It was fine. He didn't care about the details, as long as he and Xie Qinghuai loved each other.

Thanks to the efforts of Xie Qinghuai (and Li Yanchen), the melodramatic tragedy's original plot finally changed.
Just when Xie Qinghuai thought he could relax, he awakened to the story's next plotline.
The events ahead changed to fit their current situation, too. He was targeted by the real young master and framed by Li Yanchen's first love, and in the end he was still left destitute and died miserably on the streets.
Xie Qinghuai: ...
Does this stupid plot absolutely insist on killing me?
Hah! Not a chance!
- One-on-one romance, both leads have only ever been with each other, in their past and present lives.
- The "original novel" is an old-fashioned melodramatic tragedy. The "original author" wanted to write a devastatingly tragic ending, so the characters suffer for the sake of suffering, without any logic. In his previous life, Li Yanchen was controlled by the plot. After being reborn, he can break free of its control. The first love is a plot device created by the "original author" to torment the protagonist who gets pursued. In the "original novel," that person had nothing to do with Li Yanchen, and after Li Yanchen awakens, they have even less to do with each other. The "original novel" was always intended to be a one-on-one romance with no cheating.
- The story is set in an old-fashioned melodrama. Back then, the young "original author" was very chuunibyou and wanted to write an extremely tragic story with a tragic ending, so the pursuing lead and the pursued lead were made to torment each other endlessly.
- The original text and past-life events receive little description because this kitty can't write angst. The tragic novel is just part of the setup, so this is a sweet story through and through.
- The ABO setting is very far from rigorous, and everything is personal interpretation.
A seemingly arrogant and domineering pursued lead who's actually clever, resourceful, and brave enough to defy fate x a seemingly cold and ruthless pursuing lead who'll stop at nothing once his love-struck heart takes over
