From the age of eight, Liang Xiaosheng had the same dream, and even at eighteen, she still couldn't escape it.
A Western-style house that blended Chinese and Western influences from the last century, a pitch-black corridor stretching into the distance, a white dress, and long black hair falling down her back.
In the dream, she was always tied to a chair, like a lifeless doll. She had no freedom at all: not when eating or changing clothes, and not even when going to the bathroom.
She knew very well that the person in the dream wasn't her. Even though the mirror and windows in the bathroom were completely sealed off, she could still tell the difference between them at the most fundamental level.
Liang Xiaosheng was like a second personality who had split off from him, protecting the child on the verge of breaking down and facing everyone else with nothing but coldness.
This went on for more than a decade. Liang Xiaosheng was tormented until she could no longer tell dreams from reality. Even when awake, she could always hear his pained voice.
When she finally decided to deal with it and rented the villa to stay there, one night she heard a voice in the darkness, overflowing with joy.
“You finally decided to come see me.”
A sweet story with a touch of horror.
