Because of a single remark from the dog emperor of a great nation, a neighboring small country was plunged into hardship, leaving its people without enough clothes or food.
Lu Xiaoxiao, a princess of the small country, wanted to earn money to save her people. And because she hated the dog emperor, she decided to sneak into the great nation’s imperial palace and steal from it.
She put her plan into action that very night, covering her face with black cloth and struggling over the palace wall, only to accidentally crash into a eunuch.
To keep him from calling for help, she told him, “The dark circles under your eyes and your deathly pale complexion mean your body is failing to nourish your blood, and you’re suffering from depression. Meeting me is your good fortune. I’ll cure you.”
The eunuch nodded blankly. He really was sick, and she really could treat him.
So the two struck a deal: Lu Xiaoxiao would cure him, and he would make sure she could leave the palace safely.
After each job, they would curse out the dog emperor she hated, then head home with their arms full of loot.
Half a year passed in a flash. She had emptied the palace, and even the imperial mausoleum had fallen victim to her.
The eunuch said, “The dog emperor still has plenty of good stuff...”
Lu Xiaoxiao replied, “I have enough money, and you’re cured. I’m going home.”
After saying this, she climbed the rope against the high wall, but it snapped, and she fell into the eunuch’s arms.
He smiled at her. “My illness isn’t cured yet, and there are still plenty of good things for you to steal. Don’t go.”
