Qin Zheng is a young prodigy who burst onto the scene, happiest when cracking one unsolvable problem after another. She once thought her marriage to Gu Lin would be a mathematical problem with no solution, until she caught her husband cheating with the very timid, impoverished student she had quietly supported for years. Heartbroken, all she could do was divorce him and nurse her wounds alone.
But fate had other plans. Gu Lin, once so high and mighty, was in a car accident while saving his new love and became comatose. The once-prosperous Gu family went bankrupt overnight and, with nowhere else to turn, had to seek out Qin Zheng, who had been divorced from Gu Lin for a long time.
Her mother-in-law, who had always disliked her; her sister-in-law, who had turned against her after the divorce; and Gu Lin, lying in the hospital in a deep coma: A moment of weakness pulled Qin Zheng back into the whirlpool that was the Gu family.
