Historical romance: marriage first, love later
Yun Zhiyi was born beautiful, but with both parents dead, she had to live under someone else's roof.
All because someone said, "The Yun family's daughters are fertile," a marriage contract bound her to General Yuan Hu, a border commander.
On her wedding day, she saw the black tiger jade pendant tossed carelessly among the betrothal gifts as a token. Then she heard that her husband had left in a hurry before the ceremony was even complete. Yun Zhiyi was furious.
She was determined to go to Lingwu Commandery and see what the man who had married her actually looked like!
Later, the last emperor's foolishness and depravity sparked rebellions across the land. A turncoat raised an army and breached the city, and Yun Zhiyi fled amid the chaos.
Traveling east with refugees escaping the war, she asked everyone she met:
"Have you seen a man in his twenties, six chi and two cun tall, with a dignified bearing?"
"He has a scar on his right cheek and the top half of his left little finger is missing."
"He was badly wounded."
Yun Zhiyi asked these questions from Daxing to Jinyang, from the fall of the dynasty to the new emperor's accession.
When she returned to Shangdu, she held the black tiger jade pendant, her heart heavy with sorrow.
Seasons had come and gone. She wondered if he had changed beyond recognition.
The story includes: the male lead being wounded, suffering battle injuries, and being tortured; war; and a brief separation between the leads.
A happy ending, HE.
The character section says this is 1v1.
