A first-person shooter called Black Terror: Special Operations took the world by storm. Satsuki Usoba, who knew FPS games better than anyone, was the first to climb to the upper ranks of the ladder. Then she unlocked an undercover side quest.
After getting a death ending in the undercover quest, Satsuki was desperate to reload her save. But the whole section vanished as mysteriously as it had appeared. Neither creating a new account, borrowing a friend's account, nor searching the forums turned up anyone else who had experienced the undercover quest.
Soon, after the Star Plasma Vessel incident, the missions for the people at Jujutsu High became much more demanding, and Satsuki was so busy she could hardly remember the undercover quest.
After Yu Haibara's death and Suguru Geto's defection, her old gaming companions were gone, and Satsuki no longer felt like opening the game.
Then, in the year she graduated, Satsuki got an urgent call from Satoru Gojo summoning her to Cafe Poirot.
"Satoru Gojo, I'm warning you. You'd better have something genuinely important to tell me, or today I'm going to kill you... Uh." Satsuki's expression froze when she saw the young man behind the counter, with blond hair, tanned skin, an apron, and a dazzling customer-service smile.
Toru Amuro slowly typed out a question mark.
