Mo Ying, a former carbon-based lifeform reborn as silicon-based and half amnesiac, has figured it all out.
Primus = an Outer God.
Cybertronians = the Outer God's creations and servants.
Myself = an investigator accidentally dragged in by the dice.
This interpretation is perfect and makes complete sense.
Why does he think that? Because he has dice. Yes, most of his skills are decided by dice rolls, and this world is so wrong, with so many sanity-destroying things around. So understanding it through Call of Cthulhu RPG is perfectly reasonable... right?
Anyway, let's just treat it like a game!
First!
How do you survive on Cybertron when you don't know the place?
Take on part-time jobs.
His daily jobs include working as a clinic assistant, helping scientists survey unknown planets, and working as a fuel mixer at an oil bar.
How much he earns depends on luck. In any case, the Outer God's servants won't starve.
Next!
How do you complete the dice's missions and uncover some of Cybertron's truths?
Teammates are a huge help!
Mo Ying says good teammates make the game experience soar, like Ratchet from another world.
"Aaaaaah!!!! Ratchet! Ironhide! Wheeljack, Chief Medical Officer! Use your invincible 90-point medical skill and think of something!"
"...Mo Ying, don't imitate Starscream."
*
Of course, there are plenty of bad teammates too... a whole lot of them.
"Critical success on the investigation! Starscream, I found Sentinel Prime's conspiracy! Wait, why is he looking at me?"
Starscream (One): "..."
How can a mech be so stupid that he can't tell who's on his team?
*Mission in progress (time and place: IDW)
Mo Ying: "What's going on?"
Starscream (One): "I don't know. Go ask Sentinel Prime."
Mo Ying: "What's going on?"
Sentinel Prime (One): "Are your optics broken? Can't you look for yourself?"
Mo Ying: "This is..."
Soundwave (One): "Observation: miners resisting oppression."
*
Mo Ying: "Wow, your alternate self is painted grey-yellow and bright red. That's so tacky. You're way more stylish."
Sentinel Prime (IDW): "...Guard, how did this mech get in here?"
Sentinel Prime (One), who had successfully snuck up beside him: "..."
Idiot! I know he's ugly, but if you'd said one less thing, we wouldn't have to roll for combat!!!
*
Sentinel Prime (IDW): "Just look at the street. It's full of Cybertronian mongrels, blah blah blah..."
Mo Ying: "Are all versions of you this awful?"
Sentinel Prime (One): "Heh."
Starscream (One): "I've had enough! Do I really have to listen to this thing talk? Can we weld its mouth shut?"
Sentinel Prime (One): "Which one do you mean? I can weld your voice box shut too."
Shockwave (One): "It's obvious that our version is even worse."
Warning: The protagonist's background is pre-war G1. The tabletop campaign's settings can be from anywhere, and most teammates are villains (because his luck is so awful, he can't roll good teammates. He has a luck score of 73, but I rolled for him ten times and got eight failures, one success, and one critical failure. I don't even know what to say.)
The protagonist has very low intelligence and morality. He's the kind of person who could fit right into a certain anime as expendable cannon fodder without missing a beat.
The main story is a cozy G1 setting mixed with tabletop campaigns in different worlds. I've heavily modified the rules and added lots of my own headcanon. There's no plot outline, the dice are completely random, and character deaths are up to chance (a character death means a character dies during the campaign, but the corresponding character in their original timeline doesn't die). Don't worry if you don't know Call of Cthulhu. Just read it for fun.
A love-inspired work of madness, possibly with a little dark humor.
Lots of headcanon, mixed-up side pairings, a little bit of mecha romance. The protagonist only has a platonic storyline, and nobody has an unrequited crush on this lunatic. The author has written too much pure romance in the MOPM next door and needed to let loose (?).
Theme: Protagonist, could you please stop having such terrible luck?
