A truth-chasing investigative reporter x an R&D director who walks the line between good and evil
To investigate a missing persons case, reporter Song Yuxi follows a suspect onto a cruise ship.
All the evidence points to another passenger on board with her: Gao Yunzan, R&D director at Reiss Pharmaceuticals.
This man is out of reach, yet he was once a bright spot in her dull, colorless adolescence.
But the journey proves more dangerous than she expected. To stay alive, she has no choice but to seek his protection and pretend to be his girlfriend.
The man is a mystery. He rejects her, yet repeatedly saves her from danger.
Song Yuxi can't help being drawn to him, falling under his spell.
On the night they make their relationship official,
she hears no sweet words. Instead, Gao Yunzan issues a merciless order: "Get rid of everyone who's no longer useful."
The sweetness of the journey is like a bubble filled with fantasy, bursting at the slightest touch.
Watching her flee in panic, the man picks up his glass and smiles.
"It's a shame, but you can't escape either."

Gao Yunzan has never wanted something he couldn't get, from childhood on.
Except for the girl in his second year of high school who stood him up.
It's laughable. She was the one who provoked him first.
Eight years ago, and again eight years later.
He can't make the same mistake twice.
