This world is a complete mess.
As Jason Todd lay dying, his life flashed before his eyes:
His father's apathy and madness,
His mother's downfall and drug addiction,
The desperate struggle to survive in Crime Alley;
And the day he met Batman,
When he put on the uniform that meant so much to him and began the next chapter of his life:
"This is the greatest day of my life!"
And after that?
Everything that followed was like a wild horse breaking free,
As if he couldn't control where it was going.
He went looking for his birth mother,
Only to find himself caught in the Joker's scheme.
After that, he slept beneath the earth,
Until he woke once more,
And his life began again.

He thought he'd spend his whole life tangled up with Batman in Gotham.
But no one could have guessed,
No one could have guessed,
That the Flash would die,
That Superman would establish a regime,
That Batman and Superman would fall out.
Batman killed him amid the Joker's laughter,
And after that, there was no going back,
There was no going back.

The Batman Who Laughs went to war with Superman,
And the whole world fell into chaos.
The rest of the Batfamily and I formed the Tomorrow Plan.
We recruited people from all over the world and established bases,
All to restore humanity's freedom.
What a load of crap.
Damian, that little demon, is getting more and more like the old man. How old is he now? Thirty? Forty?
I've forgotten.
This morning, I looked in the mirror and found a few white hairs.
Still, I haven't lived long enough to reach the age the old man was when he died.
Did I tell you how he died?
He made a big move, luring the enemy deep into his trap. After being infected by the Joker Virus, he killed Alfred, who was closest to him.
The rest of us were busy setting up underground bases at the time.
By the time we found out, it was too late,
And the crazed Batman had vanished.
Later, he pretended to make peace with Superman and joined his regime.
But Superman knew his former friend all too well,
So naturally, he didn't trust him easily.
He came to meet Batman with Diana, Hal, and the others,
And they were all wiped out.
The Batman Who Laughs didn't come away unscathed, either.
And so, most of the original Justice League members were dead.
After that, Darkseid, Sinestro, Brainiac, and the others took advantage of the chaos and invaded.
We gathered everyone we could and began our counterattack.
Decades of fighting,
And Earth was left in ruins.
Damian inherited the mantle of Batman,
And Jon inherited Superman's codename.

Poisoning.
I took that poisoned arrow for Tim.
Now I'm lying in Base A-754.
Dick, Red Robin, Barbara, and that little demon are all here.
Hey, what's with those faces? It's not like I haven't died before.
Maybe you'll bury me, and a few years later I'll climb out of my coffin, full of life again.
Remember, don't nail the coffin shut this time, so I can get out.
I hope you'll all still be alive when I wake up next time.
