This story is also titled The Robot Only Wants to Work and Level Up.
[I've spent this time thinking of all kinds of possible endings, writing and deleting, then rewriting, but I was never satisfied. In the end, I made a decision that would make my ancestors roll in their graves (just kidding): I'm doing a major rewrite from the beginning.
This was the story that got me signed. I've spent over half a year building this world with my own hands and creating Lin Weiming's story, so it means a great deal to me. I don't plan to change its status or lock it. This is also a promise to myself: even if barely anyone reads it, I'll finish this work.
The story will start anew under the name it had when it first came into being. I've settled on the basic approach for the full rewrite and added it to my writing plans for this year. I'll do my best to start replacing the chapters in the second half of the year!
Finally, my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has stayed with me along the way. Special thanks to those willing to read and bookmark my clumsy work. I can't express how grateful I am.]
[Story blurb]
[Post-apocalyptic monster hunting | Ensemble cast | Growth-oriented heroine | Romance]
In the year 50 of the New Era, humanity had been fighting the disaster known as "Zero Matter" for half a century. At last, they rebuilt their home beyond the contaminated zones.
Jobs related to the contaminated zones sprang up. Alongside the official organizations, there were also many "amateur investigators" who, for various reasons, had never registered and worked in the gray areas.
Lin Weiming was one of them.
With a 100% completion rate and a 100% customer satisfaction rating, she ran into her first mishap on the job.
Mutated creatures were on the move inside the contaminated zone, and her client died. She became the number one suspect in the eyes of the Special Defense Bureau, the agency tasked with handling the Zero Matter disaster.
She did her best to play her part and avoid getting entangled with anyone.
After all, she was hiding a secret that was anything but human.
But things didn't go as planned.
A specially made pair of handcuffs bound her tightly to a young Special Defense Officer.
Blood still stained the corner of his mouth. His body was swaying, yet he gritted his teeth and warned her:
"Lin Weiming, you're under arrest."
She watched in disbelief as he collapsed.
Humans were impossible to understand.
·
Meng Ranzhen first met Lin Weiming in an interrogation room at the Special Defense Bureau.
He never imagined that this "suspect," whom he had once aimed his bow at, would share secrets with him, stand beside him to fight the disaster in the contaminated zone, and even become someone he was willing to give his life to awaken.
She was a robot. He had undergone repeated human experiments and was not entirely human himself.
The attraction between monsters was simply fate.
·
There's no need to ask if hope remains.
"Tomorrow's first light will appear, and true hearts will burn forever."
[Reader's guide]
1. The heroine's appearance and mental age are both set in her early twenties. Her core was completed long ago, and she is legally an adult. She starts out as a defective robot and can't take on the world from the beginning.
2. The male lead isn't a background character. He's a teammate. The story is plot-driven, but has a clear romance.
3. Important characters will die in the middle and later parts of the story.
Theme: Even when burdened with flaws, one's will never goes out.
Author, here are some of my thoughts after reading it (no malice) I feel that the character setting is very good, and each character, whether he is the protagonist or the supporting role, has his own characteristics and memory points. However, there is one place where I feel a bit disconnected is the character of the male protagonist. At first, he felt a bit like a fox, and then he felt a bit like a puppy (?) Author, is this your little ingenuity? Will it be revealed later? It can be seen that this book is a plot flow, and it also feels a bit empty. One is that the author has too many proper nouns. This is not a big deal, but the time from one proper noun to the next is too short, and the same is true for events. As a reader, I haven't had time to finish reading and understand, and new vocabulary comes up. This also causes your readers to slow down when reading the article. But in fact, people don't have much patience nowadays. I suggest you, the author, describe more and stay on the same event and vocabulary for a longer time. Another thing that feels like a problem with writing is that the connections between events are not very clear, the motives of the characters are unclear, and it still feels a bit disconnected. But overall it's still very good-looking, and I will continue to update it! Author, please keep writing!!
