Jiang Yuyan followed her mother to a new city, where she met Zhou Shu. The two got into an argument, then unexpectedly became classmates and deskmates. Their family circumstances were similar, and they began to understand and appreciate each other. With Jiang Yuyan's mother, Yin Qing, nudging them along, they grew closer and came to rely on each other... But their happiness didn't last. Jiang Yuyan's illness worsened, and she chose to keep it from Zhou Shu and go abroad for treatment alone. Her departure caused Zhou Shu to develop psychological problems. They kept in touch a little, but every attempt ended in misunderstanding.
