This story was an unexpected detour, because I liked a character who wasn't in the original plan far too much. As for the specific worldbuilding and how the characters in the two worlds relate to each other... I hope I can keep writing until I get there.
For the same reason, many questions about the worldbuilding may remain unanswered when this story ends.
The two people who end up together are not the two who were originally expected to.
Switch, leaning toward Chi Yan and Su Yan. But the switch was another unexpected development that only appeared much later, and the version posted will probably have all of that cut out. In any case, the character profiles still assign top and bottom roles.
