Naitang is a cat owned by top-tier star Chen Xing. An accident binds it to the Happiness Simulator and launches a new chapter in its cat life!
[Ding! Host successfully bound to the simulator!]
Naitang: Meow?
[? Why did I bind a cat??? Whatever, it's done now. Switching to cat mode.]
[Cat Life Happiness Simulator, start!]
The simulator can run unlimited simulations (with a basic cooldown of 24 hours), letting it experience different “cat lives,” human lives, and even the lives of other animals.
Naitang experiences each life as if watching a movie, feeling everything as if it were real!
When a simulation ends, it can inherit all the memories and skills from that life.
In its first simulation, Naitang experiences the life it would have had otherwise.
When it returns to reality, only an instant has passed.
Naitang inherits all the simulator's memories and grows into a highly intelligent cat that understands “owner,” “care,” and “emotions.”
Its thoughtful gestures warm the heart of its owner, Chen Xing.
The top-tier star actively asks for cuddles!
The next day, the simulator starts again.
In this simulation, Naitang becomes a disabled influencer cat and livestreamer.
Naitang experiences the warmth and coldness of the human world and learns how to “work the internet.”
When it returns to reality, Chen Xing is caught up in a public controversy over [emotional abuse]. Naitang uses its adorable, cuddly charms to restore Chen Xing's reputation during a livestream!
In the third simulation, Naitang experiences things from its owner's point of view.
A human life is long and complex. The System worries that its cat CPU will overload, so it thoughtfully enables checkpointing.
Over the next few months, Naitang experiences the entirety of its busy owner's life in the simulator...
It unexpectedly discovers that some of its memories from the simulator overlap with reality.
Naitang: Oh no, there's going to be a severe geological disaster in a county in City A this evening! I have to warn Chen Xing!
Chen Xing announces the news in a livestream, and the county's residents escape disaster!
Chen Xing's reputation bounces back, and Naitang's reputation as a “miracle pet” goes viral online.
Fourth simulation, fifth simulation... and more...
Its simulation targets become parrots, elephants, whales...
Naitang learns one “foreign language” after another and experiences the lives of many different animals.
It gains a new understanding of freedom and love!
Then the simulator starts simulating a cat cultivating immortality and becoming human, and Naitang slowly realizes that it, too, can take human form!
Naitang, having learned how to take a simple human form: Oh no, Chen Xing might notice signs of my activity and think I'm a monster! No, I have to stay hidden!
But no secret stays hidden forever...
Chen Xing notices that his cat, Naitang, has been acting strangely lately.
It keeps staring into space for no apparent reason.
And to his surprise, Naitang seems to understand people better and better!
At first, it only understood a few of his commands. Later, it seemed to be comforting him?
A few days later, something even more unbelievable happens!
He discovers that Naitang seems to have the power to predict the future!
Though he doesn't know why, Chen Xing's career seems to have been saved because of it...
Chen Xing worries for a long time, but in the end, word gets out that there's a strange cat in his home.
Still, as its owner, he has to protect Naitang!
When his rival arranges for a so-called exorcist to show up, he takes care of the matter with a single blow of a stick!
Naitang seems very grateful to him, and Chen Xing even starts thinking that it would be wonderful if Naitang were a person...
Something's wrong! Ever since the uninvited guest came over, strange things keep happening at home. Every now and then, Chen Xing discovers signs that “someone else” is there...
But he lives alone.
Could it be...?
When Chen Xing's guess is confirmed, he isn't frightened at all.
Instead, he's almost delighted that a dream has come true!
Naitang! His cat is a shapeshifting demon cat!
But how should he face Naitang?
A slice-of-life story.
