A Winter Love Letter [Marriage Before Love]

Meng Zhi had just graduated from university six months ago when her parents, who had forbidden her from dating in high school, started arranging blind dates for her.

They wouldn’t stop talking about this or that potential match, as if they were afraid she’d never get married.

Sick of being pressured to marry, Meng Zhi couldn’t help but lash out at her parents.

“You love nagging me so much? Just wait. One day I’ll marry someone about your age, and then you’ll finally shut up.”

Later, Meng Zhi didn’t find a blind date around her parents’ age.

But she did meet Lu Chongyang, who was eight years older than her.

-

Lu Chongyang is great in every way, and Meng Zhi is very happy with her flash-marriage husband.

The only slight drawback is that sometimes Lu Chongyang acts like an old fossil.

Meng Zhi is practically speeding down the highway, while Lu Chongyang is still going, “Maca Paca.”

Worried, Meng Zhi complains to her friend over the phone: “Do you think Lu Chongyang might be no good in that department?”

“Doesn’t everyone online say that men turn 65 once they’re past 25?”

Lu Chongyang, passing by: “?”

-

Early the next morning, Meng Zhi lies in bed with a sore waist and weak legs, cursing Lu Chongyang for being a bastard.

Lu Chongyang brings her a bowl of hot porridge and feeds it to her one spoonful at a time, his expression unchanged.

He smiles faintly and asks, “Zhizhi, can a 65-year-old man leave you unable to get out of bed too?”
