Not long after returning to the country, Wen Jin accompanied her fiancé to a party hosted by his friend.

She never expected to see Zhou Si'an there.

The boy she'd once cruelly abandoned, leaving him in a wretched state, was now powerful and influential. As everyone showered him with compliments, Wen Jin tried to make herself as inconspicuous as possible.

Over the years, Zhou Si'an had used an iron fist to eliminate his rivals and take over the Zhou family's business. He was no longer the poor little thing everyone could bully.

Everyone knew he held grudges and was ruthless. He was now the head of the Zhou family.

Wen Jin felt the man's cold gaze and her heart tightened, but luckily, he only paused for a moment.

She breathed a sigh of relief.

Then came the toasts. Her fiancé went up in her place, and everyone teased them about how close they were and how their wedding must be just around the corner.

Just as the party reached its liveliest, a loud crash rang out. All the wine glasses in front of Zhou Si'an fell to the floor.

The man said calmly, "Sorry. My hand slipped."

Wen Jin looked at the wine splashed across the floor. Her heart skipped a beat. She glanced up, only to meet the icy gaze fixed on her, as if it could pierce right through her.

She knew he had done it on purpose.

Wen Jin only wanted to stay away from Zhou Si'an.

She was guilty about what had happened back then, but she didn't deserve this.

She never expected Zhou Si'an to be like a ghost, popping up wherever she went. Somehow, she kept running into him.

She urged the man she was to marry to hurry up and set a date for their engagement ceremony.

But on the day of the engagement, she was cornered in a hotel room. Her back pressed against the cold floor-to-ceiling window, while downstairs the guests were dressed to the nines and her fiancé was raising a glass to them.

Wen Jin's cheeks flushed, her dress was rumpled, and her voice grew urgent. "Zhou Si'an! I'm engaged!"

The man sneered. "You weren't this distant when you talked me into bed back then."

He slowly wiped away the lipstick smudged at the corner of her mouth. Dark currents she knew all too well churned in his eyes. "What can he give you? A dull marriage, or an empty shell of respectability?"

The man leaned closer, his voice hoarse, each word clear:

"Wen Jin, you know better than anyone that when it comes to being useful, he's not even one ten-thousandth as good as me."

"If you're going to marry him, you might as well come and coax me instead."

At first, everything was just part of Zhou Si'an's plan. He'd said he'd make her pay.

Later, when his plan had been completely derailed, his friend finally couldn't hold back and asked him, "Didn't you say you were going to make her suffer, too?"

Zhou Si'an was carefully adjusting his cuff links with his head lowered. At that, his hands paused.

He looked up at Wen Jin, who was chatting with someone nearby. His gaze lingered for a few seconds on her slender waist.

"Mm," he answered casually, as if it were only natural.

"But I noticed she's lost weight."

His friend was at a loss for words. "...?"

"So what does that have to do with your flawless revenge plan?"

1. Both are each other's first and only, happy ending, melodrama, love rivalry, competing men, slightly a heroine loved by everyone. Readers with especially high moral standards should proceed with caution. The author's style and setup are pretty melodramatic.

2. The heroine has a fiancé. When the hero finds out, it takes him just 0.01 seconds to go mad with jealousy. He immediately grabs a shovel and starts digging at the relationship :D The hero is messed up, hopelessly in love, and fiercely possessive. Only proceed if you're sure you can enjoy this kind of story (^.^)

3. The heroine is loved by everyone. Everyone loves her, loves her, loves her. She's not the pure and innocent type. She's very purposeful and self-interested.
