"When you're lonely, send a signal into the sky. The one meant for you will hear it."
The 9,999th radio signal Wu Lele sent finally got a response.
The other person called herself the "Deep-Space Witch." She spoke coolly, but told Wu Lele to go to bed when she stayed up late and said, "I'm here," when she was sad.
The strangest thing was that she even knew the answers to the multiple-choice questions on Wu Lele's tests.
Wu Lele made up her mind: From today on, no more worshipping the supernatural. She'd worship the witch.
In the eyes of class monitor Xue Ran, Wu Lele was a walking mystery.
She spent all day wearing headphones and broadcasting from the rooftop, and didn't get mad even when the whole class called her a "witch";
Her father kept strict control over every aspect of her life, yet she still smiled like a little sun;
Everyone called her "weird," but Xue Ran just couldn't look away.
The day Xue Ran was pressured by their homeroom teacher into "keeping an eye on" this troublemaker, she inexplicably tuned in to Wu Lele's radio frequency.
Then, inexplicably, she pressed the voice changer button.
-- CQ CQ, this is BD6WLL. Can anyone hear me?
-- BD6WLL, I can hear you.
From then on, she was Wu Lele's "Deep-Space Witch."
And Wu Lele was her... "Demon Class Monitor."
Wu Lele had two worlds:
One was a home where she wasn't allowed to lock her door, grow her hair long, or show her feelings;
The other was on the other end of the radio, where the "Deep-Space Witch" was always patient and always kind.
What Wu Lele didn't know was this:
When she rambled to the Deep-Space Witch about how "the class monitor was mean to me again," after a few seconds of silence, the voice in her headphones would say, "Maybe she just doesn't know how to get close to you."
Those words were squeezed out one by one by Xue Ran, her face red.
The devil and the angel were the same person.
And that person was pulling Wu Lele, little by little, into this radiant world.
Only later did Xue Ran realize:
She hadn't "saved" Wu Lele.
That girl, who had been trapped on a deserted island yet kept sending signals into the sky, had used her own frequency to teach Xue Ran what it meant to...
Love is hearing. Love is seeing.
Love is tuning out all the static just to receive your voice.
* An outwardly cheerful radio girl vs. a cold-faced, warm-hearted, tsundere class monitor
* A love story between two girls.
* When a deserted island gazes into deep space, the stars will answer.
