Fu Yanxiu, the newly appointed head of the Lingdu Police Bureau, finds Xu Baoling, an uninitiated divination wind-chime maker, rather odd.
When Fu Yanxiu first met Xu Baoling, his eyes were full of hatred. But later, he shielded Xu Baoling from a knife and helped him solve cases.
Fu Yanxiu lied to Xu Baoling, claiming he was sleepwalking. In fact, he carried Xu Baoling to his own bed, secretly kissed and licked him, then shamelessly demanded a reward.
But to the slow-witted, absent-minded Xu Baoling, the Police Bureau chief's gaze may be a little scary, but he isn't a bad person.
Then one night, Xu Baoling woke up.
The Police Bureau chief's dark eyes were half-closed, his lips and tongue licking and kissing Xu Baoling's hand.
Xu Baoling blinked. Was he still dreaming?
It felt so real. The strands of hair across the chief's brow looked like pine needles emerging through mist. His healthy, rosy lips and tongue took turns kissing and licking the back of Xu Baoling's hand. The sensation was warm.
The chief turned Xu Baoling's wrist again and took his little finger into his mouth.
Only then did Xu Baoling start to think the chief was strange.
Later, he was confused all over again.
Chief, weren't you supposed to only lick my hand? Why are you licking other places too? This is really, really strange...
