Ten years ago, his father vanished under mysterious circumstances, leaving behind a cryptic note concealing a code. Ten years later, Xu You Nian follows the clues to a dockside warehouse, only to stumble upon an arms deal. With a gun barrel pressed to his temple, he realizes the case is closely connected to Lu Yan Ci's father, the business tycoon Lu Zhen Shan. He thinks he is embarking on an adventure to uncover the truth, unaware that he has already stepped into a game carefully laid out by the previous generation.
Amid deadly pursuits and the search for secrets, Xu You Nian and Lu Yan Ci go from testing each other to fighting side by side. Clashes in dark alleys, a rescue in a torrential downpour, and unspoken understanding in the laboratory: feelings born on the edge of danger intertwine with the truth closing in at every turn. Then a photograph taken on the day Xu You Nian's father disappeared tears away the Lu family's carefully maintained facade. They are not just investigators, but pawns as well.
As conspiracy collides with deep affection and the truth behind the fog gradually comes to light, who will break out of this game that began with their fathers? And where will Xu You Nian and Lu Yan Ci end up, caught between love and hate?
