Synopsis
In the pouring rain, at the mouth of a filthy alley, Shen Wei stubbed out the scarlet cigarette between her fingers. Her cold gaze caught Zhou Yan, the campus's newest heartthrob, in the middle of his most blood-soaked secret. A moment earlier, he had been a merciless grim reaper with life and death in his hands. The sharp crack of breaking bones mingled with screams, blood spattered across a pale face, and his eyes were a frozen abyss that could chill all things. The next moment, he turned around, and his thick lashes were suddenly glistening with tears about to fall. His wet black hair clung to his forehead as he whispered in a broken, trembling voice, as if the whole world had abandoned him: “Big Sis... they're bullying me...”
The corner of Shen Wei's mouth curled in a chilly smile. Her eyes were utterly unfazed. “Are you done pretending?”
Shen Wei was T University's famously aloof, glamorous big sister. Perception was her blade, and distance her armor. Zhou Yan, the transfer student with the halo of a “top scholar” and a gentle, harmless smile, was now performing the most extreme contrast before her, like an ornate dagger steeped in poison: dangerous, yet irresistibly alluring.
But Zhou Yan's “performance” was only just beginning. He stood in the icy rain, holding breakfast, and waited two hours outside her dormitory. His damp hair brushed against her clothes, and his eyes were like those of a lost puppy. “Wei-jie, don't hate me...” Shen Wei lifted his exquisitely sculpted chin, feeling the taut strength beneath his obedient facade. Her voice was provocative. “Zhou Yan, where's that viciousness you had when you crippled someone?” He suddenly lowered his head and pressed his warm lips to her cold fingertips, giving them a gentle bite. His voice was muffled, but filled with unmistakable possessiveness. “I'm only good for you.”
This is a dangerous game, with every step fraught with peril. In public, Zhou Yan is a flawless “puppy-like” junior. In private, he's a ruthless, secretive heir. His double life is like walking along the edge of a blade, and Shen Wei is the only blade he longs to approach and willingly bow before. He stubbornly plays the part of someone dependent and devoted in front of her, weaving the most intricate web with his most innocent gaze as he tries to capture the one light he desires in his dark world.
Shen Wei sees through his carefully crafted fragility and understands the obsession and control beneath his gentle smile. Like a dancer holding a blade, she calmly moves along the edge of the sweet trap he has laid. Every test, every clash, is like kissing a sharp blade: she knows it's dangerous, yet feels an irresistible attraction in every cold touch. He is a deadly storm that has suddenly blown into her peaceful campus life. Can she tame this dangerous “wolf” while guarding her heart, and keep herself from being wounded by the poison blade called Zhou Yan?
Core theme: Dangerous love is a blade steeped in poison. To willingly surrender to it is also to tame it with open eyes.
