Today, the Traveler was just doing Zhongli a routine favor, delivering medicine to a young adeptus in Dihua Marsh.
When the Traveler reached the rooftop of Wangshu Inn, they cleared their throat and called, "Xiao, are you there?"
A familiar figure came stumbling over.
...Why did he look so unsteady?
The Traveler was alarmed and hurried over to catch him.
"Xiao? Are you all right?"
The young-looking adeptus furrowed his brow and turned his face away, refusing to look at the Traveler.
"...I..."
The adeptus tried desperately to keep his mouth shut, but failed.
"...Urgh!"
The Traveler: "?!!"

Kaveh didn't see his deadbeat roommate today, of all days.
It wasn't that he particularly needed to see him. He'd just happened to overhear people at the Akademiya discussing how the Grand Scribe, who never missed a day of work, hadn't shown up today.
There were so many conditions to that setup that it was almost worth complaining about, but...
The blond man had spent all day hunched over his designs. At last, he lifted his head from the sea of drawings and wondered whether Alhaitham had been sent on a mission recently.
The answer was no. Or maybe Alhaitham hadn't told him, which was far more likely.
On a whim, Kaveh asked around and learned that Alhaitham had taken leave. Sick leave, in fact, and a serious case: three days off.
Last night, Kaveh had argued with Alhaitham, who'd seemed perfectly hale and hearty, and ended up furious. Kaveh: ...Seriously?
After a while, curiosity got the better of him. He went back to Alhaitham's house, sneaking around like a cat and making sure nobody was watching before darting inside.
Three seconds later, Kaveh came back out, questioning everything he knew.
Content warning:
Please note that this is written in first person!
I don't think there's anything else to warn you about. It's just a silly fantasy about turning into various characters?
Isn't it only natural to imagine what you'd do if you were so-and-so while playing a game? (I say, with complete conviction!)
(Rubs hands together) This idea has been sitting around for ages! Time to pick it back up and fill in the gaps! I wrote the first chapter ages ago too, so the writing style may change a bit as it goes on.
Theme: No matter where I return from, I'm still... myself!
Delicious, delicious, lovely to watch
