The story begins in seventh grade, when Fu Yu's father has to travel out of town for work. To make things easier for her, he transfers her to a school there. While carrying her books, she accidentally bumps into Song Du, who is chatting with his classmates. They meet again when Fu Yu's parents divorce in ninth grade and her mother sends her back to Nanjing for high school. While she is out clearing her head, she runs into Song Du in the middle of a fight...
