After summer passed, Shi Xiangyi realized things weren't so simple.
Shen Youjin discovered her painting and used it as evidence to accuse her of being

He cast an amused glance at the self-portrait, where ink-wash strokes outlined his elegant profile and broad shoulders. Beads of water clung to his bare back.
"When did you sneak a look at me?"
"You even remember that tiny scar on my lower back?"
"Why frame the painting? So you can hang it by your bed and admire it every day?"
"You'd dare show other people something this revealing?"
Shi Xiangyi stood motionless, saying nothing, her whole face flushed red.
Shen Youjin poked her cheek. "Little liar, and you said you didn't miss me?"

For a long time, Shi Xiangyi thought Shen Youjin was frivolous and reckless, and that she was only a passing whim to him.
Only later did she learn that Shen Youjin had loved her for years, ever since before she even knew he existed.
Shen Youjin didn't overthink it. His only wish was to stay by Shi Xiangyi's side forever and ever.
Whether he was her boyfriend or her puppy didn't seem to matter.
