01
Five years after their breakup, Liang Weixing never expected to run into Ling Zhun at the police station.
She was soaked through and utterly bedraggled. He had braved the storm to come for another girl. When his gaze passed over Liang Weixing, he looked at her as if she were a stranger.
She thought that, by now, they really were strangers.
She thought it would be nothing more than a chance encounter, but she never expected their work to tie them together again.
In public, she was impeccably polite and courteous to him.
When people curiously asked about their relationship, she simply replied, "We don't know each other well."
That one remark was all it took. That night, her door was shoved open, and a strong hand seized her wrist and pinned her against the wall.
The man's presence was dangerous as he growled by her ear:
"We don't know each other well? What part of me don't you know?"
"Saying those words, Liang Weixing, are you trying to get yourself killed?"
His voice sounded as though he really meant to kill her.
Liang Weixing was once again sure that he hated her.
In the darkness, she failed to notice his reddened eyes.
02
Some people are born with everything. Ling Zhun was one of them: born high above the clouds, arrogant and proud, free and untamed.
Love was a constraint to him, and so was having someone to love.
Yet Liang Weixing became his one and only exception.
At nineteen, he wanted to put her name in his household register.
At twenty-one, he held out a ring and asked if she'd marry him.
But it ended with her saying they should break up.
The woman he loved had abandoned him as casually as if she were casting away a dog.
As if it meant nothing. As if it were only natural.
Later, at a drinking party, someone dared to ask if he'd stayed single all these years because he still couldn't forget Liang Weixing, the ex-girlfriend who had dumped him.
In the dim private room, Ling Zhun flicked away some ash without even lifting his eyes and asked carelessly, "Liang Weixing? Who's that?"
No one knew that on a sweltering summer night, a boy's heart had pounded as he kissed the girl in his arms and said:
"I'm yours now, Liang Weixing."
"Betray me, and you're dead."
[Little Scene]
Snow fell in early winter.
Wearing a silk nightgown, Liang Weixing leaned against the windowsill to watch it. Behind her, he pressed close, wrapped in a bath towel.
As he lifted a glass to her lips, he kissed the red marks on her neck.
She trembled and tried to dodge, asking him to let her rest for a while.
Ling Zhun held her by the waist and pulled her against him, his breath scorching the tip of her ear. "You promised to reward me. Not a second less."
Warnings:
There are very intimate pet names. Don't read if you dislike a sunny, sensitive, awkward female lead or a male lead who stubbornly denies his feelings.
Both leads are each other's first and only partner. One-on-one romance.

Coming next: "The Crush Begins with a Lie"
1.
Min En, who never liked watching TV, spent a whole night crying over a drama her friends called a pure-love story.
A friend asked her, "What would you do if you suddenly found out your boyfriend was your brother?"
Min En replied:
First, I don't have a boyfriend.
Second, I don't have an older brother on the same household register as me.
Her friend asked, "What about Xiang Shiwen?"
Brother and sister...
That's what everyone thought Min En and Xiang Shiwen were.
No one knew that at first, they were nowhere near being siblings.
At the beginning, she was just an unfamiliar neighbor to him, a nuisance he had no choice but to look after.
He found her terribly annoying.
Picturing those eyes, so indifferent when he wasn't smiling, Min En replied, "Don't be ridiculous. We're fine as brother and sister. I'm going to marry someone else someday."
Outside the door, the person leaning against the wall said nothing.
One night, the power went out on the street.
Min En lit a candle and searched for a flashlight.
When the flame flickered to life, Xiang Shiwen was leaning against the doorframe.
The little flame danced, casting shadows over his face.
Min En patted her chest. "Why did you come in without making a sound?"
He gazed at her solemnly and asked a question that had nothing to do with hers: "Do you have to get married?"
She joked, "Big brother, who'll support me if I don't get married?"
The window wasn't shut properly. A gust of wind blew in and snuffed out the candle.
The room sank into darkness.
As she turned, a body pressed against her from behind.
She couldn't ignore the breath brushing her ear.
It was so hot she wanted to run.
Xiang Shiwen's voice was low and heavy, far less composed than usual:
"I will."
2.
On the day his best friend got married, Xiang Shiwen served as a groomsman for the first time.
After the wedding banquet, his friend grabbed him and asked when he could expect to celebrate Xiang Shiwen's wedding.
Xiang Shiwen watched Min En chatting with someone in the distance and exhaled a puff of smoke. "You'd better look forward to someone else's wedding."
Following his gaze, his friend sighed. "Are you really going to drag this out forever? You're not related by blood."
Their eyes met briefly. Xiang Shiwen knew that the one friend who truly understood him had seen through his secret.
He stubbed out his cigarette, his expression calm.
"Do you think blood ties are what's stopping me?"

Theme: Love speaks before hate
Alas, I feel helpless if I don't have a long mouth. It's frustrating to watch. I am also an avoidant type. When the avoidant type is avoiding, is this what an outsider's perspective looks like?
I can't stand this shit anymore
You boy. The front foot knows that the female goose is single, but the back foot says that she is single 🐶 Does the female goose know about this [question mark]
Is there a bug or something? Why did you change the pre-receipt copy? It's still the same as before🥲
"I took it but it turned out like this, she touched..." This is a big bug for the author~ The result

Teacher, I hate your shortness 😣 😣 😣
Finished spreading flowers! Make up a full order! Long time no see! When I was chasing it, I only had 600 or 700 collections. Now I see 3,000 or 4,000. I'm so happy [Make Me Kangkang]. The writing is really good.
There are more than fifty chapters in any novel like this one, and the male and female protagonists are not together yet [cover your face and laugh and cry] It's really a pity to abandon this place, it's tasteless [cover your face and cry] [cover your face and laugh and cry] [cover your face and laugh and cry] [cover your face and laugh and cry] [cover your face and laugh and cry]
You... Asked for it. I hope that the avoidant me won't be so naughty in relationships in the future 🐶
