A Pride and Prejudice fanfic. The canon couples stay together.
After transmigrating into the Bennett family as their fourth daughter, Catherine, she is neither as accomplished as her two older sisters, who will marry into money, nor as foolish as her younger sister Lydia, who might make a terrible mistake.
She thought about becoming a bluestocking, too, but after seeing Mary learn the piano and Latin and read all sorts of dreadfully dull books in her quest to become one, Catherine decided she ought to avoid stepping on her poor third sister's toes.
She also considered going into business and making a fortune, but Meryton is a small town where nothing escapes the sharp-eyed neighbors. For Jane and Elizabeth's sake, it would be best not to do anything too unconventional.
In the end, Catherine concluded that she should pray Mr. Bennett would live to a hundred, so she could lie flat with peace of mind. As for the more distant future, surely Jane and Elizabeth wouldn't abandon her completely.
Whether things will go according to plan remains to be seen.
Theme: Living well matters more than anything.
