In 2025, Earth was hit by a solar system storm called "Jinwu."
Jinwu left Earth half-destroyed. Natural and unnatural disasters, along with paranormal events, became widespread, and eighty percent of the world's population died that year.
Perhaps Jinwu caused the small number of surviving humans to evolve all at once. These lucky few came to be known as "Nuwa."
Nuwa protect humanity, and humanity "provides for" Nuwa.

Baby-faced show-off Xie Zhiyu and white-haired, pupil-less lunatic Wen Suzhou
