I Really Don't Have Any Ulterior Motives Toward You

Jiang Jibai and Huo Xingzhou are sworn enemies, the kind who wouldn't make peace even at a funeral.

Then one day, Jiang Jibai gets bound to a System.

The System tells him he's a doomed supporting male character in an old-fashioned melodramatic novel. To escape the role written for him and get a new lease on life, he needs to befriend a person blessed with great fortune.

Jiang Jibai: "Who's the person blessed with great fortune?"

System: [Huo Xingzhou.]

Jiang Jibai: "?"

Jiang Jibai: "Forget it, then. I might as well die."

System: [Are you sure you want to die?]

System: [The kind of death where you jump off a building in red briefs?]

Jiang Jibai: "...Wait! I think I can still be saved."

So from that day on, Jiang Jibai has to find every possible way to make peace with Huo Xingzhou.

That includes being the first to rush to Huo Xingzhou's side whenever something happens, dropping everything to care for him when he gets sick, chatting with him on the phone now and then, inviting him to movies, and even buying matching outfits to show how close they are.

Jiang Jibai declares confidently, "He'll definitely be moved by me and let bygones be bygones."

Huo Xingzhou: We haven't exactly made peace, but my heart is on fire.

Huo Xingzhou: He loves me so much.

Huo Xingzhou: Mutual pining is the best.

Only after Huo Xingzhou pins him to the bed does Jiang Jibai finally realize he'd completely misunderstood!

"Wait! This isn't how it is! I really don't have any improper thoughts about you!"

Huo Xingzhou loosens his tie and calmly knots it behind Jiang Jibai's head. "Too late."
