I really love the drama My Fair Lady, so I used its characters' backgrounds as inspiration to create a different story: the love story of Bai Kongque, the Bai family's heiress, and Shi Tanming, the eldest son of the Shi family. They marry for reasons beyond their control. Bai Kongque is naturally innocent and kind, while Shi Tanming cares only about his own and his family's fortunes and prestige. Together, they become the last witnesses to Shanghai's glittering heyday.
Theme: Only by viewing personal love against the backdrop of the times can we discover its true meaning
