Bound to the Cannon Fodder System

Blurb 1: Jiang Zhao is from the apocalypse. In one moment, she transmigrates into the body of a young lady from the Yong'an Marquis's household.

But before she can enjoy even a few years of luxury, she discovers that she has actually transmigrated into a book. In the story, the entire Yong'an Marquis's household is branded a "family of cannon fodder," with every member serving as a stepping stone on the female lead's road to success.

Just then, her golden finger, the Cannon Fodder System, tells Jiang Zhao that the female lead is the chosen one of this world. She can absorb the fortune of her blood relatives to boost her own luck, which is why everything always goes her way.

Jiang Zhao's heart turns ice-cold!

Fortunately, the System is here to help: "Host, you can earn points by completing missions, then use them to buy helpful items from the store and thwart the female lead's schemes."

Jiang Zhao's eyes light up, and she urges the System to issue its missions right away.

System Mission: A Match Made Across a Thousand Miles

Please find a good match for your elder sister, Jiang Chun.

Reward for completion: +1,000 points

System Mission: Fortune Rises and Falls, the Heavenly Dao Turns in Its Cycle

Please stop the female lead from stealing the Yong'an Marquis household's fortune in time.

Reward for completion: +1,000 points

System Mission: Jingwei Carries Twigs to Fill the Sea

Please qualify to be considered as a prince's consort.

Reward for completion: +1,000 points

Jiang Zhao has a wonderful time completing missions. As soon as she gets her rewards, she heads to the store to shop. The goods there are simply eye-opening.

Ziwei Birth Talisman: wards off evil and stabilizes fortune. Give me a whole stack!

Happy Pill: one pill clears away your worries. A little pricey!

Rejuvenation Pill: one pill takes you back to eighteen. Astonishing!

Youth Serum: one drop keeps you young at heart forever...

With her golden finger, Jiang Zhao starts taking the female lead's path, leaving the female lead with nowhere to go.

Blurb 2: After transmigrating, Jiang Zhao looks at her System and rolls her eyes in disdain.

Other people's golden fingers are called things like "Protagonist System" or "Beloved by All System." At worst, they're called a "Side Character System." Only hers is called the "Cannon Fodder System."

No wonder she is cannon fodder in the book.

The System fidgets guiltily and aggrievedly. It was only because its Host was cannon fodder that she got bound to a System called "Cannon Fodder."

To change her prejudice, the System tries hard to prove that it is useful too, no worse than those Systems called "Protagonist" or "Beloved by All."

"The reason your fate in the book is so tragic is that the female lead absorbed your fortune. With me here, you can turn the tables and absorb her good luck for yourself."

"Besides that, I can pull some strings and unlock access to the Cosmic Store for you. Just complete the missions I issue, and you'll earn points you can use to buy anything you want from the Cosmic Store."

The System opens the dazzling store for its Host to see, but fails to notice the slight curl of Jiang Zhao's lips: a smile that says, "Finally, I got it to fall for the pitch."

Theme: Stand on your own feet, strive to improve, and keep moving forward.
