Official title: A Broken Sword Still Has an Edge
I have chapters written and a detailed outline of 400,000 words. Updates follow the rankings before serialization, then daily updates afterward.
"Congratulations! You have a chance to protect the world! Excited? Press the button to begin your legendary life!"
A System suddenly appears and throws a screen at her. Four enormous words stare back: "Destroy the World."
Xi Di: ?
The System panics. "Sorry, I made a mistake! Let me restart!"
Xi Di sighs. "Good thing you ran into me. If it had been someone else..."
"Yes, good thing..."
Xi Di whips out a massage gun. "They might've let you take it back."
She's going to destroy this rotten world!
The System shrieks, then laughs evilly. "You really are the chosen one! That's exactly the spirit I was looking for! Go destroy the world!"
Huh?
Xi Di tosses the massage gun aside and rubs her hands together. "Actually, there are plenty of people with more resentment than me. Why don't you pick someone..."
Before she can finish, she transmigrates to an unfamiliar era.
So she never had a choice?! She's really just a spineless, law-abiding citizen who likes to talk big!
The System vanishes. Xi Di has no special powers, so she assumes a fake identity to stay alive, but she can't hide her lack of divine power for long.
She bluffs and pulls the wool over people's eyes as she packs to run away, but in the middle of all the chaos, she accidentally awakens a special power.
[Worship of Man] Seeing is believing. When other people witness your tricks and believe them, you awaken the corresponding power.
[Divine Favor] The more people believe in you, the greater your chance of success, as if the gods are helping you. The less they believe, the lower your chances, and all sorts of accidents and obstacles will get in your way.
Xi Di sets down her burdens, cancels her escape plan, and launches a deception plan.
At last, she can stand tall.
She's a wigmaker who lives with Pursed-Lip Guy, a broke cosplayer who loves having fun, an artisan who has spent two hundred years handcrafting cosplay costumes and props, and a photographer who worked hard to expand her social circle...
With all these skills, who dares question whether she's a true divine envoy?!
She really is the chosen one!
Before dying, the prophet left behind a prediction about a ghost who would destroy the world. But for hundreds of years, nothing unusual happened, and the prophecy became a nursery rhyme people sang in passing.
The rain shall cease,
The springs shall dry,
Demons tremble, spirits fear, ghosts open their eyes.
Forests wither,
Raging flames scorch,
The sun and moon turn upside down, strange ghosts appear,
All the beasts roar as the world is overturned.
In the end, fire spreads without end, rivers of blood flow, and all things fall into chaos.
Xi Di nocks an arrow and points her bow at the sky. "Why didn't the prophecy mention this? Did you think I wouldn't dare kill a god?"
*
The wandering knight Dandi vows to roam freely for the rest of his life. No matter how much money or fame his employers offer, he has no desire to settle down.
He has made two deals with the newly appointed, peculiar divine envoy, taking jobs from her to do strange things.
Once a task is complete and the deal is over, their connection is finished. He should leave as carefree as ever and continue wandering.
He should have no reason to linger.
Note:
The heroine pretends to be a god and fools people everywhere. The more she lies, the more her adventures come true.
The heroine's sense of morality fluctuates wildly. Staying alive comes first.
More to come.
