Two male leads. Top: Pei Yuche. Bottom: Bai Yu
--"When my heartbeat meets the horizon, I will run to you before Death can."
Bai Yu awakens in a dream and discovers that he's the villain in a novel, fated to be driven into a dead end by the "chosen one," Pei Yuche. To change his fate, he carefully devises a scheme: make Pei Yuche fall in love with him, then use his power to eliminate every threat.
Born blessed and favored by fortune, Pei Yuche is used to everything going his way. Yet the first time he sees Bai Yu, those smiling, icy eyes seize his heart. He draws closer step by step, while Bai Yu retreats step by step. Beneath the gentle trap lies a poisoned blade.
When the truth tears everything apart, Pei Yuche grips Bai Yu by the throat and demands, "Can you even fake your heartbeat?" Choking, Bai Yu laughs. "But that night... I really did run to you."
My heartbeat is the pain and ecstasy you gave me. The horizon is the far shore we journeyed toward together, where at last we can be together forever.
