Chen Yu forbade her from drinking soda because of her sensitive stomach, while she kept reminding him to go to bed early because he often got headaches.
Later, Chen Yu became the school's heartthrob, and Zhou Xu was dragged along to watch him play basketball.
After the game, plenty of girls went up to offer him water. Chen Yu didn't even look at them. He walked straight over to her and asked softly, "Can I have the water you just bought?"
The onlookers started screaming. She slowly nodded.
Later still, Zhou Xu nearly fainted outside the hospital with a fever of 41 degrees Celsius, but neither her father nor her stepmother asked her a single question. They coldly told her to handle it herself.
Late at night, Chen Yu held her close, heartbroken for her.
"Don't be afraid. I'll be your safe harbor."
Bonus scene:
In a dark movie theater, Zhou Xu's hand trembled as she applied lip balm to him. Chen Yu held her by the arm and chuckled softly. "Don't tremble, baby."
Then he tilted his head and kissed her.
