After the Unrequited Love of the Qin Player Came to Nothing

Proud, aloof zither player vs. innocent, guileless page

Odd-numbered chapters are from the female lead's perspective, even-numbered chapters from the male lead's. An old-fashioned first-person style. Once I have more material, I'll revise it into a historical romance.

I met a zither player in Jiangnan.

With that hand, he pulled me out of the mire.

Yet with that same hand, he pushed me into hell.

I met a page in Jiangnan.

With those eyes, she stirred my stagnant heart.

Yet with those same eyes, she froze me in misery.

*

I hate that the world offers no way to have it all, to honor neither Buddha nor beloved.

Reader's guide:

1. A tragic story, not a female power fantasy. Both the man and woman suffer. It's probably going to have a bad ending, depending on Ye Zijun's mood.

2. Ye Zijun is hungry and wants to read a story like this, and is also using it for writing practice. Just writing for fun, with irregular updates. I like this story quite a bit, so there will probably be one chapter a week.

3. This used to be a diary, but I changed it into this little story. As I continue writing, locked chapters will also be replaced with this book instead of the diary.
