A hundred years ago, a meteorite fell from the sky, and a mysterious extraterrestrial substance swept across the globe, driving hundreds of species to extinction.
At the same time, a new kind of energy was discovered and put to use.
"Astral Energy" defeated steam power, electricity, and nuclear power to become the world's most widely used superenergy. It broke down class barriers and shaped the world's order. Anyone who could control and use it became an "Astral Energy Master," someone who stood above the masses.
The best way to change your fate is to become an Astral Energy Master, or marry into a wealthy family.
Si Li was born in the poorest mountain village. When he was eight, he resonated with Astral Energy, and swore he would become a great man who could shape the world.
His parents were both dead, and no one could afford to send him to school?
No problem. As long as he came in first, he would earn a scholarship and living expenses.
First in his town, first in his district, first in his province. At nineteen, he was admitted to Xinghai Academy as the top student in the South China Union.
.
Si Li and Xing Yunsheng were two people who would never have crossed paths.
Xing Yunsheng was the founder of Xinghai Academy's great-great-grandson, the only child of the Xing family's head, and a true child of heaven.
He was carefree and easygoing, a genuine playboy. He loved the thrill of extreme sports, yet quickly lost interest in things. Nothing could hold his attention for long.
He was an untethered wind, a proud eagle.
The first time Si Li saw Xing Yunsheng, surrounded by admirers and treated like the center of the universe, he knew: Xing Yunsheng should belong to him.
Si Li wanted the best of everything, and naturally, that included his lover.
The best way to tame an eagle is not to pluck out all its feathers, nor to become an eagle and soar alongside it.
It's to become a cliff, a place where every eagle longs to make its home.
