Beyond All Hope

[Beautiful master × scoundrel disciple]

Ling Qingyi (top) × Wang Xuan (bottom)

--

Ling Qingyi, the junior uncle of the Tianmen Sect, grew up showered with love from everyone in the sect. The first time he ever went down the mountain, he picked up a handsome young man and brought him home.

Convinced that he was an adult now and should help shoulder the burden of carrying on the sect, Ling Qingyi overruled everyone's objections and decided to take the young man as his personal disciple.

His senior brothers and sisters were deeply moved. His master waved a hand and gave Ling Qingyi and his new disciple a mountain of their own, where he could teach and pass on his knowledge.

But...

Everyone knew Ling Qingyi had been spoiled rotten. His aptitude was mediocre, and he was no good at swordsmanship or cultivation techniques.

No one knew that the young man he'd picked up was not only exceptionally gifted, with an extraordinary physique, but also had a thirst for knowledge beyond anyone's imagination.

Ling Qingyi had no way to explain himself.

When he tried to teach his disciple to read, the boy's questions left him speechless. When he taught him martial arts, the boy pointed out countless flaws and then beat him so badly he was left disarmed and utterly defeated.

Ling Qingyi covered his face and toppled over. His demonic disciple sauntered up and patted him on the shoulder. "Master, you still need to practice."

Ling Qingyi reflected on his failures and resolved to do better.

And so the disciples, senior brothers, senior sisters, and their own disciples at Tianmen Sect witnessed an astonishing sight:

The junior uncle, second-highest in seniority beneath the patriarch, had put on a school uniform again and started training from the very first cultivation technique, sharing his disciples' hardships and going everywhere alongside them!
