A strange woman recently moved to Beika Town. On average, she runs into a case every two days, and her memory is terrible. She completely forgets people she met just the day before.
Of course, that's not even the strangest thing about her.
"Yesterday, we saw Akaba-san fishing in the fountain at the park," the Junior Detective League kids said gravely.
"A few days ago, I saw her arguing with the bird beside her like usual... while she was rummaging through a trash can," said the pink-haired graduate student, his glasses flashing.
"She's in her twenties, but she's completely hopeless with electronic devices," said the young man with half-long hair, nudging his curly-haired partner. "What do you think, Jinpei?"
His partner yawned. "I heard she even needed an umbrella on a cruise ship."
"Most importantly," the little detective with the red bow tie stamped his foot, "she says she's a detective, but her skills have nothing to do with being a detective!"

A detective needs more than keen observation and strong deductive skills. They also need some special abilities.
For example, [Disguise], which comes in handy when gathering information.
"Disguise means dressing up as another person. It doesn't mean piling on clothes until you look like a vagrant!"
For example, [Combat], which comes in handy when subduing a criminal.
"Wait a minute! You don't need to throw punches when you're gathering information!"
For example, [Socializing], which comes in handy when expanding your network.
"Allow me to remind you that this is the third gift you've given that blond guy from Poirot Café this week... and it's only Tuesday!"
For example, [Bomb Disposal], which you might have to use in an emergency.
"..." Akaba looked doubtfully at the little detective with the red bow tie beside her. "Do detectives need to know how to defuse bombs?"
Detectives in Beika Town really are versatile.

1. The CP is Zero; all other relationships are friendships.
2. The story starts in Conan's first year. Cases make up a large portion of the story, and the narrative is nonlinear.
3. Truly starting from zero to become a detective. The protagonist is a blank slate, and her early stats are on par with an ordinary Beika Town resident.
Theme: Cherish life.
