Furuya Rei had always felt that someone was watching him, but no matter how long he searched, he could never figure out what that gaze was.
Then one day, his childhood friend died in the line of duty. The gaze grew more intense, but it also felt increasingly familiar.
After a strenuous workout left him drenched in sweat, Furuya Rei felt a breeze pass by, and the air around him instantly cooled.
While developing a new dish, he forgot the recipe. Then he heard the salt jar knock twice.
After a fight on a Ferris wheel, he came home covered in injuries, and the air around him immediately turned cold.
He found it all baffling. Then, after Furuya Rei put himself in danger yet again, he discovered that he could finally see who had been watching him since childhood.
Furuya cried out in despair, "How could the person who's been watching me since I was a kid possibly be you, Hiro!?"
But before he could discuss what was going on with Hiro, the two of them suddenly collapsed.
When Furuya Rei woke up again, he found himself lying on a bed in a shrine. He was wearing a kimono, with long golden hair and the appearance of someone from ancient times.
A bewildered Furuya: Where the heck am I?
Just then, he heard footsteps outside the shrine. Furuya Rei turned in confusion and saw someone dressed in an ancient general's uniform, holding a sword in his left hand.
But why did this person have a face just like Morofushi Hiromitsu's?!
