Hundreds of years later, the already fragile balance of Jujutsu Society completely collapses. Cursed energy, the world's fundamental power source, is nearly depleted, and the world's development grinds to a halt. After stumbling blindly forward for so long, the world's consciousness decides to learn from its painful mistakes and restart the entire world from scratch.
To keep the same things from happening again or prevent unexpected changes, the world's consciousness gets things in order and sends an application to the Plane Maintenance Department of the Administration Bureau.
Hagawara Gen has only just passed the civil service exam and secured a permanent position when he is solemnly appointed as the department's outside contractor. Thus begins his long working life, rushing to the world's consciousness's aid and cleaning up its messes.
The mission timeline even stretches over a thousand years, and his abilities come with a partial-sealing debuff. On his very first mission, the world's consciousness nearly gets an important character killed by intervening personally, forcing Hagawara Gen to save them at the cost of a permanent life-sharing contract.
Hagawara Gen: ...Help, how can anyone make such a huge mess? It doesn't matter if they're not human, but the world's consciousness!
Reading guide:
1. This is a writing-rehab project after several years away from writing. I dug out a protagonist profile from a story I started years ago and never got past the opening. I'll be the first to say I'm not very good, so expect out-of-character moments and lots of headcanon!
2. I'm a devoted fan of sweet stories. It's light and cheerful, with no angst. The plot only covers the Shibuya Incident, and the main storyline is based on Jujutsu Kaisen, though the setting may include all sorts of strange crossover worlds.
3. Pairing undecided for now.
4. No trolling or writing advice. If you can't accept that, please click the X. No need to tell me why or what you think, thank you!
