Something's Off About the Sword Spirit

While anxiously rushing to finish her thesis under the pressure of blind review, Jiang Wanzhao suddenly feels a sharp pain in her heart.

Yes, she died suddenly, but not completely. She discovers that she has been bound to something calling itself the Fated Gacha System, and transmigrated into the body of a useless young sect master with the same name as her, in the Xuanling Continent.

The System says her final mission is to change the fate of spiritual cultivation being wiped out in this world. Otherwise, her soul will be annihilated.

Jiang Wanzhao: ?

Fine. It seems she doesn't have any other choice. If she's transmigrated, then she's transmigrated.

Then she discovers that her new character is no good and her talent is only average. Oh, right, she thinks. Doesn't she still have a gacha System?

Just as she's eagerly anticipating her first real-life gacha pull...

"Th-thank you for playing?!"

Jiang Wanzhao thinks she might as well have died properly.

Do missions, cultivate, do missions, cultivate. For a moment, Jiang Wanzhao feels like she's just a tool.

Until...

[Ding! Congratulations, Host, on your first gold pull. You have obtained a spirit weapon: Moon-Sunderer Sword, Fragmented]

Before she can cry with joy, the four gleaming words on the panel douse her enthusiasm with a bucket of cold water.

"A broken sword? What good is that going to do?!"

Later, Jiang Wanzhao regrets saying that more than once.

Just like now, the sword spirit, a cold smile playing on her lips, holds her at swordpoint. Her jade-like fingers stroke up and down her pale neck as she breathes softly, "Go on, tell me. How exactly am I useless?"

Is it still too late to end the contract?
