Ming Yuechao came from a prominent cultivation family and was exceptionally talented. He joined Qingyun Sect, the greatest sect in the cultivation world, at a young age. It wasn't until a spirit artifact claiming to be a "System" acknowledged him as its master that he learned he was living inside a book.
The book's protagonist was named Su Yunwei, the chosen child of Heaven in this world.
According to the "System," he was a classic overpowered protagonist, and everyone else was just cannon fodder on Su Yunwei's path to godhood.
Ming Yuechao asked, only half understanding, "What is cannon fodder?"
The "System" patiently explained, "It means being trampled under Su Yunwei's feet."
Ming Yuechao furrowed his brow slightly. The "System" continued: not only would Ming Yuechao meet that fate, but all of Qingyun Sect would become a stepping stone for Su Yunwei.
To avoid Qingyun Sect's destruction, he would have to follow the "System's" instructions and play the role of the overpowered protagonist's beloved, moonlight-white wife.
Ming Yuechao said, "But I'm a man."
The "System" waved a hand. "The character originally meant for the role has strayed from the plot. According to the System's calculations, Ming Yuechao is the best choice."
Ming Yuechao had been pampered since childhood, and everyone at Qingyun Sect doted on their stunningly beautiful junior. For the sake of his sect, he gritted his teeth and accepted the task.
According to the "System," Su Yunwei would become the greatest person in the cultivation world, someone countless cultivators looked up to.
But the overpowered protagonist Ming Yuechao met after accepting the task was nothing more than a battered, down-and-out puppy who had been cast out by his family.
Ming Yuechao's heart softened. He took good care of the poor little puppy, then left once he had completed the so-called plot.
The next time he saw Su Yunwei was at the Great Competition of the Nine Provinces. By then, Su Yunwei was no longer the filthy little puppy he once had been. He was now the cultivation world's most brilliant rising star.
But this rising star no longer had the tenderness he'd shown Ming Yuechao. His hair was tied back with white silk, and Ming Yuechao heard people say that he was mourning his partner.
Ming Yuechao's face flushed with anger. W-what partner?
The "System" worried that Ming Yuechao might get hurt if he confronted Su Yunwei. But it could only stare in shock as Su Yunwei carefully drew Ming Yuechao into his arms, refusing to let go even when Ming Yuechao stepped on him.
Su Yunwei's dark eyes reddened. "Wife, don't leave me again."
The whole audience was stunned!
Su Yunwei had lived in darkness since childhood and never asked anyone for pity.
But when he was at his lowest, a ray of pure moonlight finally fell upon him.
Su Yunwei desperately tried to grasp that moonlight, only to lose the one he loved.
Until... at the Great Competition of the Nine Provinces, he held the moon in his arms once more.
Reader's Guide: 1. A love-struck overpowered protagonist x a softhearted "young mistress." This is a sweet romance! A sweet romance! Su Yunwei is absolutely devoted to him!
2. The author's writing is average, and I like this kind of cheesy romance. If it's not for you, feel free to click away! Kisses!
