Blurb below (the Xu family relationship chart is at the very bottom):

Delicate, gentle, soft-spoken mute consort & shameless, short-tempered, talkative emperor

Female lead's blurb:

When Xu Lerong, the only girl in the Duke of Xu's household, was ten, she fell into the water and came down with a fever that wouldn't break. It damaged her voice, and she became mute.

The mute noblewoman had no luck with marriage, but her grandfather, the Duke of Xu, used his service in helping the new emperor take the throne to force the emperor to bring her into the palace as a consort.

The new emperor, Gongsun Yi, was short-tempered and impatient. Everyone in the capital waited to see how long it would take for him to grow tired of facing a mute consort day after day.

But they waited and waited, until the emperor left his harem empty for one woman alone.

Male lead's blurb:

Ever since the new emperor, Gongsun Yi, was poisoned, he had suffered from unbearable headaches every day. His temper grew worse, and he would wipe out entire households at the drop of a hat, leaving the officials too afraid to send their daughters into the palace.

One day, the Duke of Xu, who had once been helped by Gongsun Yi, sent his own granddaughter into the palace, ending the emperor's bachelorhood by force.

At first, Gongsun Yi thought, This girl is so kind and easy to take advantage of. What a shame she's wasted on me.

Later, Gongsun Yi thought, This girl is so kind and easy to take advantage of. Thank goodness she's mine.
